battir cpfvw Within the activities and programmes of community participation associated with the rehabilitation projects of cultural heritage carried out by the Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation (CCHP), Battir Municipality and CCHP organized a voluntary work day in the historic town of Battir with the participation of youth volunteers.

starstreet-wk 2017-MP-2 Within the framework of the project "Management Plan for the World Heritage Site: Bethlehem, the Birthplace of Jesus: The Church of the Nativity and the Pilgrimage Route", which is being implemented in partnership between the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, Bethlehem Municipality, the Presidential Committee for the Restoration of the Church of the Nativity, and Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation (CCHP), a workshop with decision-makers, officials and stakeholders of the World Heritage Site was organized to manage and implement proposed projects to revitalize Star Street (Pilgrimage Route).

Battir CPF CCHP is working towards protecting one of the most important water springs in Battir, “Ein Al-Balad”, and its square “Al-Maidan Square”, thus reviving the intangible heritage, mainly the inherited traditions passed down through generations through reviving the traditional festivals that used to take place once, and promoting the Agritourism of Battir.

2nd-February--2017-016 Under the patronage of H.E. Rula Ma’aia, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, CCHP celebrated the completion of rehabilitation works of Al-Deer Square in Beit Jala, implemented through the "Local Development through the Rehabilitation and Revitalization of the Historic Built Environment in Palestine" programme and funded by the Government of Sweden - Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency "Sida" through the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization "UNESCO" - Ramallah Office. The square shall be used as a multipurpose public square, and a parking in the ground floor.
